  • Teach measures the quality of classroom practices over the course of a teachers lesson. The tool is organized into three broad areas: Classroom Culture, Instruction, and Socio-emotional Skills. These areas have ten corresponding elements that point to twenty-seven behaviors. The behaviors are characterized as low, medium, or high, based on the evidence observed in this classroom. These preliminary scores are translated into a five-point scale, which quantifies the teachers practices as captured in two, 15-minute observations. This study documents the results of a pilot study designed to measure the quality of teacher practices in a selection of 45 public primary schools (73% rural and 27% urban) in Mindanao, a province of the Philippines
